GR Wildlands and WD2 are the worst examples ever, their Ultra Settings are incredibly unoptimized. That's with everything maxed minus the msaa Is that completely maxed, or are you turning down settings for a constant 60 fps?Ĭause on Wildlands and Watch dogs 2 etc. Thanks again for all the info, you da man Maybe they just figured the gpu voltage adjustments don't push temps high enough to cause damage so they just set it to the max by default? That's good to know though, I'd probably have spent hours trying to figure out why i can't adjust it when I get my TI strix in a few days lmao. I would have assumed they'd have the default set to a safe range and leave voltage adjustments for the overclockers that want to push past the guaranteed safe voltage. I really only ever OC if I need the extra frames. But it personally doesn't bother me too much. It wouldn't surprise me if it was hard locked since the 1080Ti's already draw so much power (between 230W-250W depending who you ask). It's kind of unfortunate, because in my scenario, clearly I have enough thermal overhead to push further, and I could only imagine how far the 1080 Ti's could go on water. Neither of the two programs allow me to adjust the voltages, even when enabling the overvolt option. ![]() It doesn't seem like Afterburner or Precision X will allow for overvolting the 1080Ti though. ![]() Once you do, the Core Voltage slider on the main screen will unlock. If the card/bios/drivers allows for voltage adjustments, you first have to enable overvolting in Afterburner or Precision X's settings.
